Hey everyone! Here are some basic instructions as we get started...

I will be posting your work here each week that you need to do. My goal is to have you continue to practice and learn the most important concepts, without overwhelming you with a lot of work to do at home. Everything can be accessed under the 'Website Links' tab, except for the phonics.

Phonics

Parents, you will need to go through the phonics lesson with your child each day. I've written instructions in the PowerPoint in blue so you know what to do for each page:

Each day's lesson will be labeled with the day in green, so you know when to stop for each day:

Wonders

When you login to Wonders, you'll need to click on this icon:

You will then find your assignments under the "To Do" button that looks like this:

Pay attention to the due dates here so that you know which assignments to work on first. (They don't always show in the order that they're due.) Along with doing your assignments, you can also click on any of these other buttons to enjoy more learning activities!

Go Math

When you login to Go Math, you'll need to click on the "Things to Do" to see your assigned lesson each day:

Again, pay attention to the due dates so you know which lesson to do. Check your answers every time you solve a problem so you see if you got it right or not. These lessons are pretty short, so parents, if you see that your child needs more practice with a concept, please help them!

Extras

In addition to your daily assignments, you can also look under the 'Extras' tab for more skills to work on. These are not required assignments, but will help you stay on top of other skills that you need to know by the end of first grade!

A Note to Parents

I know that each of you have different schedules and responsibilities, and you now have the added responsibility of ensuring your children's education at home. I'm trying to make their learning at home as smooth as possible, but any time you can give them to sit with them, make sure they understand the lessons, and provide extra practice if needed will be important in helping them continue to learn and not fall behind on skills we've been working on in class. If your child is already behind in reading or math, it will also be vital for them to get extra practice on basic skills with you at home, since I don't get to work with them each day. The truth is, we don't know how long schools will be excused for, so we're going to need a team effort to help your child succeed through this process. Please do what you can, and thank you so much for your efforts! And as always, don't hesitate to send me an email or Dojo message anytime you have questions or concerns.
